BOYER, ROBERT SIGLER "BOBBY", passed away at home surrounded by family on December 1, 2003. He was born December 6, 1941, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University where he was President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After graduation he joined the family retail business which was established by his father in 1950. Doak Walker Sports Center, a sporting goods institution, served the Park Cities and Dallas for 42 years. He was the youngest President of the National Sporting Goods Association. He was a life member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas. He was a charter member of the Park Cities Presbyterian Church. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Rhudy "Dub" Boyer. Bobby was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Emmette Boyer; mother, Irma Sigler Boyer; son, Terry and wife, Lisa, of Dallas; daughter, Mary Beth Nix and husband, Preston, of Heath; stepsons, Brian Butterfield of Austin and David Butterfield of Dallas; grandchildren, Preston, Payton, Palmer, and Presley Nix; sister, Betsy Hardin and her husband, Tom J. Hardin; nieces, Cristin and Melissa Hardin; cousin, Shirley Dawson Holt of Corpus Christi; and mother of his children, Valerie Boyer. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Restland Funeral Home. Private burial followed by a memorial service at Park Cities Presbyterian Church at 4 PM on Thursday, December 4. Memorials may be made to the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, 400 S.
